About our Company

Oregon Hill began with two brothers growing 400 acres filled with rows of verdant strawberry plants. Their families used the home-grown strawberries from their farm to create a fresh-from-the-field syrup. They shared the syrup with family and friends. Word of mouth spread the news of the wonderful syrup creation. The family began bottling the syrup to be sold at the local farmers' market and bazaars. It soon became apparent that they had a winning, flavorful recipe that could be used to include other fruits which grew on their farm. The success of one flavor soon branched out to create six new varieties of syrup, each as fresh and full of natural flavor as the first.

Local restaurants and shops soon began ordering the syrups. Individuals from across the country who had tasted the syrup during a visit to Oregon or who had been given the syrup as a gift began calling with their orders. It became clear to the family that farming hundreds of acres of strawberries while producing, selling and marketing the six flavors of syrups was an immense job. In 1991 they sold their company to their family friends who were devoted to the product.

The Oregon Hill family of products was broadened with the addition of new flavors and variety to the Oregon Hill Farms fruit products of the Pacific Northwest. The product line now includes the original six flavors of all natural fruit syrups, eight flavors of delicious fruit jams and preserves, and three old-fashioned fruit butters reminiscent of years past. As a complement to the fruit jams and preserves, a unique blend of Oatmeal and Brown Sugar Scone Mix  and Hazelnut Scone Mix were created. A Whole Wheat and Honey Pancake Mix was also introduced to accompany our gourmet fruit syrups.

Oregon Hill Farms prides itself on the wonderful natural products and tastes that you would expect from the finest gourmet food markets, featuring beautiful packaging for the individual jars and bottles and also for the gift packs and gift crates. The portion sizes range from 2 oz. individual size to large foodservice size used by restaurants, with several sizes in between depending on the product.

In 2005, the previous owners made the decision to retire, selling Oregon Hill Farms to Tom and Carmen McMahon, who now operate the company along with their family and the Oregon Hill family of employees.
